Founded to revive the region’s liquor-making heritage, Mowall uses local ingredients like Totomi rice and supports local agriculture. In 2020, they won the President’s Award at the Korea Liquor Awards.

The source of good liquor is “water.” Wonju, surrounded by mountains, boasts a supply of clear water that never dries up, even during droughts.

The basis for tasty liquor is “rice.” Wonju grows “Totomi” rice, cultivated in this pristine water. Additionally, the cool air from Chiak-Mountain is ideal for long-term fermentation and aging at low temperatures.

After winning the President’s Award at the 2020 Korea Liquor Awards, they went on to sweep the top prizes at the world’s three major liquor competitions in 2024, proving the quality of their liquor is recognized both domestically and internationally.
