Company introduction:

Mowall Cooperative is a traditional Korean liquor distillery located in Wonju, a region renowned for its pure and fresh air. Established with the goal of reviving the area’s liquor-making heritage, Mowall emphasizes the use of local ingredients, such as Totomi rice, to support local agriculture. In 2020, the distillery received the prestigious President’s Award at the K-Sool Awards. 

The foundation of quality liquor is “water.” Wonju, surrounded by mountains, is blessed with a continuous supply of pristine water that remains abundant even during droughts. 

The key to creating flavorful liquor is “rice.” Wonju is home to Totomi rice, cultivated using the region’s pure water. The cool air from Chiaksan Mountain further contributes to the process, providing optimal conditions for long-term fermentation and aging at low temperatures. 

After receiving the President’s Award in 2020, Mowall continued its success, securing top honors at three of the world’s most renowned liquor competitions in 2024. These achievements underscore the brewery’s recognized excellence both domestically and internationally.
